Rubber Oil Seal

Oil seals, commonly called rotary shaft seals or grease seals, are used to close the gap between the stationary and moving parts (usually rotating shafts) in mechanical equipment, helping to prevent lubricants from escaping and blocking harmful substances such as dust from entering through the gap. Oil seals are usually composed of a flexible rubber lip bonded to a rigid metal housing. Most oil seals also contain an annular spring mounted in the rubber lip to provide additional sealing force.

Oil seals are used to seal rotating shafts and keep oil-based lubricants inside shafts, engines, etc. Grease seals are used to seal more viscous grease lubricants in rotary shaft applications.
