Comparison between positioning preload and constant pressure preload
(1) When the preload forces are equal, the positioning preload force is effective in increasing the bearing rigidity, that is, the positioning preload force has the smallest displacement for the bearing load.
(2) Positioning preload force. During operation, the axial elongation difference caused by the temperature difference between the shaft and the housing, the radial thermal expansion difference caused by the temperature difference between the inner ring and the outer ring, and the deformation caused by the load, etc. Change the preload load.
In the case of constant pressure preload, the spring weight (spring load) caused by shaft expansion and contraction is very small, so there is no need to consider the change of preload.
It can be seen from this that the general positioning preload is suitable for the purpose of improving rigidity, and the constant pressure preload is suitable for high-speed rotation, where axial vibration needs to be prevented, and thrust bearings are used on the horizontal axis.
Preload force
The preload force is not determined arbitrarily and should be selected according to the size of the bearing. If the preload force is too large, the service life will be shortened and the friction torque will also change.
If the preload force is too small, it will increase vibration and poor rigidity, causing fretting wear of the raceway surface. Therefore, when using bearings, it is very important to correctly set the preload force.

Approximate selection criteria for preload force
In situations where low starting torque is required, light preloading is usually selected; in situations where rigidity is required, medium preloading is usually used. When used in high-speed rotation situations, heavy preloading is generally used or contact NSAR engineers for more details. Select the preload force.
