Our premium washdown resistant thermoplastic bearing units are becoming increasingly popular throughout the industry and are more cost effective than all stainless steel bearing units. In addition, thermoplastic bearings have a lower weight factor compared to other bearing materials. These bearings are widely used in poultry, meat, seafood, bottling, packaging and more! What sets our thermoplastic bearings apart is that the reinforced PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate) consists of 10% filament glass fibers and precision solid stainless steel bushings placed around the bearing bore and mounting holes. The insert bearings themselves are made from high-grade food-grade stainless steel to a precision tolerance of C3. This combination of materials provides a high-strength thermoplastic housing with smooth-running performance that can be used in food-grade and corrosive environments. These bearings are also suitable for cryogenic applications, up to 285° Fahrenheit.
